How do I obtain a pistol permit?

In order to obtain a pistol permit from the Newfields Police Department, applicants must be a resident and must fill out an application which can be picked up at the police department. A background check will be completed and a decision will be made by the Chief of Police within ten business days. There is a non-negotiable $10.00 fee for all pistol permits due upon pickup.

I'm going on vacation, how can I alert the Newfields Police Department?

I am interested in becoming a police officer in Newfields.  How do I go about it? 

The first thing that an interested applicant must do is submit a resume and cover letter. We will accept these when we have openings.  After, applicants are required to engage in the testing process which includes: written test (through Great Bay Community College), physical agility test, oral board, background investigation, psychological examination, medical examination, and polygraph examination.  

When is the winter parking ban?

The Town of Newfields winter parking ban is in effect from November 15 through April 1.  Vehicles are prohibited from street parking during this time from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM.  Emergency parking bans take effect during storm emergencies which may occur at any time.  Exemptions can be made for residents if snow is not expected.  Please contact the Newfields Police Department should you need a temporary exemption.

Can I get a police patch from the Newfields Police Department?

The Newfields Police Department does not trade or sell its patches.

How do I obtain a copy of my accident report?

You can contact us during business hours, Monday through Friday 8:30-2:30. A copy of the report can be obtained once the report is completed and approved.  Accident reports are typically ready within one week after an accident.  Applicable fees will apply for a copy of a report.

Do NOT flush medicine down the toilet unless accompanying product information instructs otherwise. Don't keep unneeded medications in the home.  Medicine collection events staffed by law enforcement, if readily available, are also good options for safely disposing of unwanted medicine.
