Celebration Committee 2025
A Year of New Volunteers & Celebrations!
The Celebration Committee successfully planned and executed the Senior
Luncheon, Memorial Day Parade, Fall Festival and the Holiday Celebration. So
many new volunteers and donors made these celebrations possible.
The Senior Luncheon was first up in 2025. It was headed up by Amy Sununu and
Natalie Fream. The Town Hall was filled to capacity with Newfields Seniors
having a great time socializing with friends and neighbors. Our volunteers went
above and beyond to ensure that all in attendance had a fantastic experience.
Next Up was The Memorial Day Parade. The day started with the Naval Launch Ceremony where Newfields veterans
assembled to lay the wreath in honor of our soldiers and sailors lost at sea. Our Grand Marshal, Ray Buxton, lead the
parade in the “Antique” Fire Truck. Fire Departments from surrounding towns showed up to show their support and
respect for our Grand Marshal. We had great weather and a great turnout for the parade and picnic. The food was
excellent and it was a great opportunity for neighbors to reconnect after the long winter.
The Fall Festival was the result of a great collaboration between the Celebration Committee and the Newfields Police
Department. Again, we lucked out with the weather and had a great turnout. Lots of great food and activities for all.
Thanks again to the Newfields PD, specifically Chief Young and Lt. Blais for their efforts.
Finally, Santa Claus Came to Town! It was great to have some snow on the ground for this Holiday Celebration. The
NPTO did a fantastic job providing the food and taking care of everyone inside the town hall. Bobby Kelly had some
great voices come out to carol in front of Town Hall to put everyone in the Holiday Spirit. Kids and Adults alike
really enjoyed the Horse & Buggy Ride donated by the Friends of the Library. We also benefited from the 25 Foot
Christmas Tree donated to us by the Garden Club. Thanks to all those who helped us decorate, especially Caleb Fields
for providing the lift so we could get the lights on the tree and the hall. Santa received over 50 letters this year and
replied to all.
Looking forward to 2026
2026 will see the 4 celebrations plus some extra events to celebrate the USA’s 250th Anniversary. The Celebration
Committee spent time in late 2025 working on plans and collaborating with the Newfields Library for the 2026
celebrations.
The Celebration Committee has seen some new volunteers this year who have done a fantastic job and we are on the
lookout for more. Please contact Michael Kessler at mkess23 [at] comcast.net (mkess23[at]comcast[dot]net) or call 857-214-0840 if you would like to
