Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I obtain a pistol permit?
-
In order to obtain a pistol permit from the Newfields Police
Department, applicants must be a resident and must fill out an
application which can be picked up at the police department. A
background check will be completed and a decision will be made by
the Chief of Police within ten business days. There is a
non-negotiable $10.00 fee for all pistol permits due upon pickup.
Can my house be checked while I am away?
-
Absolutely. The process is quite easy actually. Residents should
contact a representative of the Newfields Police Department between
the hours of 9 AM and 2:30 PM Monday through Friday for the purposes
of providing us with some particulars about your residence (IE. will
the lights be on a timer, will there be a vehicle in the driveway,
will anyone be visiting or taking care of the residence while you
are away, etc.). These questions will help us better serve you and
keep your property safe while you are away.
I am interested in becoming a police officer? How do I go about it?

application for employment. After, applicants are required to engage
in the testing process which includes:
